LVAG “Fresh Start” Online Art Gallery Show
We are excited to present our first LVAG Online Gallery Show of the new year “Fresh Start” . In this Online Art Gallery Show the artist is asked to choose or create an art piece that celebrates creative voices. This art exhibition is designed to encourage creativity, reflection, and community by highlighting the diverse talents within our membership—and welcoming new artists to join us.
“Fresh Start” is not about creating something new. Artists are encouraged to submit work from their existing body of workpieces that feel meaningful, representative, or simply right to share as we begin a new year together. While the show does not follow a strict theme, artists are asked to include a short description explaining why they chose the piece(s) and what inspired them to submit it for this first show of the year.
"In The Beginning" by Sean Cottman 9 x 6 Mixed Media $250 "In the Beginning” was created with ink and watercolor on paper, built slowly and intuitively rather than planned. I began with loose ink marks, allowing lines and shapes to find their own balance. Watercolor was added afterward to soften the structure, introduce depth, and create space for the piece to breathe. The work reflects the idea of a fresh start as something quiet and unfolding, not sudden or forced. It embraces uncertainty, small decisions, and moments of pause—much like the early stages of creation or change. This piece felt right to share for Fresh Start because it represents beginnings as open-ended, imperfect, and full of possibility.
"Fall in Nyack" by Margie L Murray 11 x 14 Photography $450 My love of the beautiful trees and falling leaves inspired me to paint and take photographs when visiting the East Coast.

"Four Amigos II" by Barbara Weisenburg 22 x 30 Watercolor $1,200 In this series, I am experimenting with different numbers of objects relating to each other. Four Amigos II arose at the end of an art opening when the table decorations were moved together.
"Waiting for a Train" by Barbara Weisenburg 14 x 10 Watercolor $750 We were painting plein air at the train station and a group of actors arrived in period dress. How appropriate to add them in my painting
"Blue Scorpion Spirit Message - Embrace Change" by Amelia Williams 6 x 12 Mixed Media NFS Mosaic: Art glass, sea spines, beads on handcrafted substrate During a major life change I nearly stepped on a scorpion with my barefoot. I welcomed this close encounter as I knew that the spirit message of scorpion is to embrace change. I created this personal piece to support my life transition. This is based on a photo of the blue scorpion found in Cuba.
"Hello Bird" by Amelia Williams 23 x 23 Mixed Media NFS Mosaic: Art glass and sea spines on handcrafted substrate Birth and new life creates a restart for all involved. This mother bird is wide-eyed as she beholds her nest. Each chick represents members of my family (kids and adults – they are all ‘needy’) and the egg represents my granddaughter just about to be born.
"Strata: Melt ... Release" by Amelia Williams 12 x 6 Mixed Media $350 Mosaic: Vitreous glass tile – matte and iridized, frosted glass, mirror and beads Resting for awhile in the confines of structure, ice melts and is eventually released to a new start in flow.
Thanks Mixed Media • 17 x 12 $750 Hide Custom Fields Artwork Description Hide Content Mosaic: Art glass, copper wire on handcrafted substrate Someone left the cage door open, freeing the bird for a fresh start. The thank you note scribed by the bird’s own feather suggests this was an inadvertent release. What joy!
