Jennifer Stephens

A Florida native and graduate of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with an Associate of Arts in Photography, I am drawn to alternative techniques. I work in hand-coloring, film/ink transfers, and 3D layering - blending traditional photographic processes with personal creative vision. My work honors the quiet beauty of everyday moments, approached with intention, patience, and reverence for often overlooked details. Photography is more than a medium; it is a mindset and a blessing. Through each image, I invite viewers into a reflective, intimate experience - celebrating light, texture, and the transformative power of observation. My art has been exhibited nationally and locally, also featured in both print and online publications.

“The Moonlit Isle of Shadows”

“The Forgotten Line”

Artwork Description: This hand-colored black and white photograph captures an old payphone in the foreground, standing as a quiet relic of the past. In the background, a couple absorbed in their cell phone reflects the present moment. By blending monochrome tones with vivid colors, the image bridges two eras of communication, symbolizing transition and renewal. The contrast between outdated and modern technology suggests a fresh start-honoring where we've been while embracing where we're going. Hand-colored photograph on watercolor paper, framed size at 11.5x14.5. Graffiti Alley- Toronto, Canada

15 x 12 Photography

Artwork Description: 7,8,2,9 - The Bearded Lady is a color photograph captured in Palermo, Italy where a graffiti figure—a surreal blend of human, octopus, and (real) bicycle—emerges from a crumbling wall like a dream half-remembered. The octopus suggests transformation; the bicycle, escape. “The Bearded Lady” challenges identity, beauty, and belonging, standing proudly in the in-between. This work is a unique tribute to the poetry of neglected places and the strange, tender stories they hold. It invites the viewer to linger where reality begins to blur. Layered color photographs on hand-torn/shredded canvas.
