Artwork Description: The piece was painted using all oil based materials and paints, a traditional medium depicting a contemporary scene. As the viewer, you sit across a woman at a marble table. Her mood at first glance may seem melancholic, but looking again she is simply introspective. While the brush strokes here are free and vibrant, the overall mood of the painting is meant to be meditative. Beginnings, I believe, should begin with some introspection. The woman is in a lively setting but there is a peace emanating from inside. Any type of meaningful work or change stems from within, and I hope this painting adds a reflective moment.

Artwork Description: This piece is a large canvas painted with all oil based materials. The scene is meant to feel as though viewer is in on a conversation. Two women are sitting across from each other, both listening to each other, yet both in their own inner world. They are dressed ready for an evening out, wanting to begin an adventure, yet remain inside the old creaky furniture, bright pink wallpaper, and decor are in contrast with cold winter and Brutalist architecture from the window view. Their clothes do not match the weather, perhaps they are existing in a fantasy of life beyond their cold days. Even with that, there is beauty and poetry even in a dreary landscape.
