WELCOME TO THE LVAG EXHIBITION PAGE
This year your Board of Directors determined that LVAG needed an Exhibition Committee to enable the organization to grow and expand the opportunities for members to show their artwork. My name is Debbe Sussman and I have been named Chairperson of the committee. After 40 years in the art business wearing many different hats and working in nearly every type of art venue, I believe I have the knowledge and experience to be affective in this position. Education has always been very important to me, therefore as part of my duties I will bring you information on Best Practices for Artists as recommended by top art institutions and National organizations including the NEA, CCA, the Reynolds Foundation, and many museums. I hope this will be useful for our members in furthering their careers. And….for the most part, they will be short and to the point! In addition, I will be presenting some of these topics live at our monthly meetings, so if you hate reading COME TO A MEETING!! The first topic will be Juried Exhibitions. Future discussions will include artwork preparation, contracts, safe use and disposal of materials, CV's and artist statements, and other topics of interest. If you have any suggestions , or would like to present, please contact me at the Exhibition email address or by text to the number listed below. It is our sincere hope that the Exhibition Committee will be a valuable addition to the Guild, and that more of our Members will become involved.
The Guild presently has two venues where our Members can show their Artwork. The Art House is our permanent members gallery and every member is invited to participate each month. There is a $10 hanging fee and the Gallery takes a 15% commission. Drop off is the Monday before first Friday between Noon and 6:30 pm.. This is also the day to pick up artwork from the previous month. The Arthouse is open 6 days a week and Preview Thursday and First Friday. The Art House is located in the heart of the Arts District at 1229 S. Casino Center Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89104. Julie Townsend and Rebecca Weeks are the contacts for the Arthouse.
LVAG is also now exhibiting at the Galleria at Sunset Mall in Henderson once a month at the LVAG Fine Art Expo. This is a great opportunity to get your work in front of hundreds of people for two days once a month. In addition, the Mall is including us in all of their advertising and email blasts. There is a $50 space charge for the 2 days. You keep 100% of your sales. You must submit images with your application to be accepted. The Mall management makes the decision as to who is accepted. However, once accepted, you do not have to submit again, other than to pay your space fee . Jeffrey Oldham or Larry Keenan are the contacts for further information regarding the Expo
