Volunteer Spotlight: Jonathan Weber

Jonathan Weber

Volunteering at the Las Vegas Artists Guild is a very important aspect of my Art journey. I began painting less than two years ago, and I felt the need to immerse myself in the Art community to expand my knowledge and presence. Being available to discuss Art is one of the most joyful aspects of the volunteer experience – this includes speaking with the many artists who visit or are involved with LVAG, the patrons who purchase our art, those who come in just to look at and appreciate the art, as well as those just curious about art. I especially enjoy talking about Art with children, finding what interests them, and possibly even sparking an interest they may not have known. LVAG has provided the gateway to a much broader universe of creative possibility to me, and I appreciate the opportunity!

Volunteer Spotlight: Alena Dawn

Alena Dawn at the LVAG Gallery

First off I just love being in the gallery because of all the amazing and inspiring artwork in there. I’m constantly learning from other artists techniques and out of the box creative ideas while I’m there. I love supporting and keeping the gallery going it really is a blessing to be part of the guild and have the opportunity to get my work out there more. It’s nice making an occasional sale commission free and getting my work in the community letting more people know about my art. Since I don’t have a studio other than at home, it’s nice to have somewhere else to go to create new work. I feel like it helps me keep on track with my goals. The gallery is also great for networking, meeting other artists and learning more about other potential art opportunities. The gallery is run by so many great people and has such a positive energy in the space I feel peaceful and super happy when I am there.

Volunteer Spotlight: Kristi Watson

Kristi Watson in the LVAG Gallery

I started volunteering at the Las Vegas Artist’s Guild in August of 2018! I volunteer here because I believe you should support the place where you are selling your work. I’ve met so many amazing artists at the gallery and honestly I never realized how many artists never volunteered here until I became involved. It’s hard to keep a gallery open without volunteers to run it. The best thing about volunteering is that you have an opportunity to make your art while you volunteer, speak to people who stop by, and sell your work where you aren’t paying a large rental fee for a storefront. It’s a win/win situation!
